Terms of service
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These terms are between you (the customer) and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], a company under the laws of [JURISDICTION] ("Castio," "we," "us"). By buying a Castio license, you agree to them.
1. What you're buying
Castio is a one-time software license. You pay $500 once. In exchange, you get:
- A working copy of the Castio platform, deployed into your own Cloudflare account.
- Setup and onboarding help getting that first deployment running.
- Updates delivered through the platform's built-in update channel, for as long as you have an active license.
- Direct support from the people who built it, for as long as you have an active license.
This offer is limited to the first 100 customers at this price. We may change pricing or terms for customers after that. Your $500 price and the terms you agreed to at purchase do not change later.
2. It runs on your Cloudflare account, not ours
When you deploy Castio, it creates and runs inside your own Cloudflare account: your Workers, your D1 database, your R2 storage, your KV namespaces. You own that infrastructure. You own the data in it, including recordings, transcripts, meeting content, and user accounts your organization creates.
Cloudflare bills you directly for whatever your usage costs on their platform. That billing relationship is between you and Cloudflare. We are not a party to it, we don't mark it up, and we don't see your Cloudflare invoice unless you show it to us.
We do not have standing access to your deployed instance, your database, or your Cloudflare account after deployment. We can't see your meetings, your recordings, or your organization's data unless you invite us in to help with something.
3. Updates and support
Updates are delivered through the update channel built into your instance (Settings > Updates). You choose when to apply them. We publish new versions; you decide when to update.
Support means: you can reach us directly (see [CONTACT EMAIL] or your onboarding contact) with setup issues, bugs, and questions about the product, and we'll help.
Both updates and support are tied to having an active license. See Section 4.
4. If your license lapses
Castio has no kill switch. There is no mechanism by which we remotely disable, lock, or shut down your deployed instance. If your license lapses, either because you didn't pay an ongoing fee we introduce for a future tier, or for any other reason we specify at the time, here is exactly what happens:
- Your software keeps running. Nothing about the deployed instance changes the moment a license lapses. Your organization can keep using it.
- You stop receiving new versions through the update channel.
- You stop receiving direct support from us.
That's the whole consequence. We are not going to pretend there's more to it than that, because there isn't. Since we have no access to your Cloudflare account, we have no way to reach in and change that even if we wanted to.
5. What we don't do
We don't manage your Cloudflare account. We don't back up your data outside of what your own Cloudflare account stores. We don't guarantee uptime beyond what Cloudflare's own infrastructure provides. We are not responsible for costs you incur on your Cloudflare account.
6. Refunds
[PLACEHOLDER: no refund policy exists yet. Draft assumption: all sales are final once a deployment has been provisioned, refundable before that point at our discretion. Confirm before publishing.]
7. Liability
To the extent [JURISDICTION] law allows, Castio's total liability to you for any claim related to the software is limited to the $500 you paid for your license. We provide the software as-is, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for customers who purchase after the update. Changes do not apply retroactively to your existing license unless you agree to them.
