What do I need to use Castio?

A Cloudflare account (free to create) and a Castio license. Castio deploys entirely onto your Cloudflare account -- Workers for compute, D1 for database, R2 for storage, and KV for caching. You own all of it.

What does Cloudflare charge?

Cloudflare uses usage-based pricing for Workers (compute), D1 (database), R2 (storage), and KV (key-value). For most deployments, these costs are very affordable -- often in the single-digit dollars per month for small-to-medium usage. Cloudflare R2 storage has zero egress fees, which means storing and serving recordings doesn't incur download charges.

Are there per-minute fees?

No. Unlike video SDK platforms that charge ~$0.004 per participant-minute (plus extra for recording, transcription, and streaming), Castio does not meter your usage. Your costs are based on infrastructure usage through Cloudflare, which scales very differently from per-minute billing.

What's included in the license?

All features. Video and audio meetings, webinars, livestreaming, recording, AI transcription, AI summaries, analytics, scheduling, full white-label branding, REST API, and webhooks. No tiered feature gates -- you get everything.

How is this different from self-hosting Jitsi?

Jitsi is free but requires you to manage servers, configure Prosody, JVB, Jibri (for recording), handle scaling, and maintain the infrastructure yourself. Estimated total cost of ownership is $2,000-5,000/month when you account for servers and DevOps time. Castio deploys to serverless Cloudflare infrastructure with zero server management -- recording, transcription, and AI features just work out of the box.
